REGULATORY FACT: DSHEA provides FDA with the authority to remove dietary supplements from the market if they: 1) pose an “imminent hazard” to public health or safety which permits the immediate removal of a product or 2) present a “significant or unreasonable risk of illness or injury.” Fortunately, these authorities are rarely used.
