JANUARY 17, 2024 – The CRN Foundation announced today the relaunch of its Vitamin D & Me!® website as an educational site for consumers to learn about the broad importance of vitamin D in health and wellness, transitioning from its original purpose as a source of information on vitamin D in relationship to COVID-19 and immune health. The website was launched in May 2021 during the height of the COVID pandemic as a public education site on the nutrient, providing research, news, and health information.

January 16, 2024 — On January 11, 2024, the GAO released a report titled “Prenatal Supplements: Amounts of Some Key Nutrients Differed from Product Labels.” The report details that a laboratory, contracted by GAO, analyzed 12 prenatal supplements for specific nutrient levels. The investigation asserts that 11 out of 12 supplements deviated from their labeled amounts for at least one nutrient (folic acid, iodine, iron, vitamin A, C, or E), potentially leading to overconsumption or under consumption of the labeled nutrients.

JANUARY 9, 2024 – The Council for Responsible Nutrition, in partnership with NSF, will host a two-day virtual training entitled GMP Inspections: “What to Do When the FDA Comes Knocking.” The series begins on Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2024, at 1 p.m. EST, with the first part focusing on an overview of the GMP inspection process and how to prepare for it, followed by the second part entitled “What to Expect During and After the GMP Inspection,” on Wednesday, Jan. 24 at 1 p.m. EST.
