CRN’s ANNUAL CONFERENCE CONVENES IN ONE MONTH
JOE LEVITT, DIR., FOOD SAFETY & APPLIED NUTRITION PROVIDES FDA UPDATE


WASHINGTON, D.C., August 11, 2000—The Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN) will hold its annual conference at the Doral Golf Resort and Spa in Miami. At this time, representatives from over 80 of our industry’s leading dietary supplement manufacturers have registered to attend.

The conference begins on Monday morning, September 18, 2000 and ends on Wednesday morning, September 20, 2000. There will be three general sessions dealing with 1) regulatory updates, 2) GMOs and 3) consumer perceptions of the dietary supplement industry. The breakout sessions will focus on the issues of sports nutrition, family health, botanical research centers, the recent report by the Institute of Medicine on dietary reference intakes for antioxidants, Internet strategies and marketing trends. Conference registration is free to the media, but transportation and room charges will need to be made in advance and are at the media’s expense. The Doral has offered a special room rate of $180, including tax, to participants of the CRN conference, so make your reservations soon as they are filling quickly. Please send a copy of your media credentials or a business card with your registration.
