Comprehensive Cantox Report Establishes Conditions for Safe Use of Ephedra Dietary Supplements
Includes Credible, Scientific Harvard and Columbia Clinical Study Findings

WASHINGTON, DC, December 18, 2000

WHAT: A compelling report by Cantox based on 19 clinical trials and other key data has provided the most comprehensive report to date on Ephedra. Cantox Health Sciences International, respected internationally as an independent scientific consulting firm for over 20 years, included credible data from the Harvard and Columbia Clinical Study in its analysis. The primary investigators of the Harvard and Columbia Study also will be on hand to discuss their findings.

Millions of Americans have used billions of servings of Ephedra for several years as an aid to weight loss. In August of this year, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services convened a two-day hearing to review scientific evidence on Ephedra use, and called for additional research on the safety and benefits of Ephedra. The Cantox Report provides timely information on these issues.
