Mark
A. Moyad, M.D., M.P.H., occupies an endowed position created
and funded entirely by his patients. He is the Phil F.
Jenkins Director of Preventive & Alternative Medicine
at the University of Michigan Medical Center (Department
of Urology).
Mark
published his first medical paper in college (College
of Wooster, Wooster, Ohio) at the age of 22 on the effect
of a compound found in cottonseed oil and its potential
impact on male fertility. He received his Masters in Public
Health degree from the University of South Florida (Tampa,
Florida) with a focus on environmental health/epidemiology.
He was one of the principal investigators of the L-tryptophan
supplement investigation in the State of Florida. Mark
received his Medical Degree (M.D.) from the Wayne State
University School of Medicine (Detroit, MI), and he is
currently finishing his Ph.D. in pathology at the same
institution, along with his N.D.
The
primary author of over 80 medical articles, Mark is the
editor-in-chief of the soon to be released medical journal
"Seminars in Preventive & Alternative Medicine"
by Elsevier. He is an editor or regular reviewer for numerous
medical journals including British Journal of Urology,
Cancer, European Urology, International Journal of Cancer,
Lancet, Journal of Urology, Nutrition and Cancer, Urology
and others. He is also the editor of the Humana Medical
Book Series on Preventive & Alternative Medicine.
Mark is the co-author or author of five books, and he
has maintained a consulting practice in Preventive and
Alternative Medicine for the last 10 years.
