CRN Associate Member Spotlight—Vicente Sederberg: U.S. hemp industry heeds call to serve communities in need with 'Hemp for Our Future' initiative

U.S. hemp industry launches campaign to support healthcare workers and community organizations on frontline of coronavirus crisis

A coalition of U.S. hemp businesses and organizations have announced the launch of Hemp for Our Future, a social responsibility campaign to support healthcare workers and community organizations on the frontline of the coronavirus crisis.

Co-founded by Vicente Sederberg LLP , Agricultural Hemp Solutions, and Friends of Hemp, Hemp for Our Future has established a network of hemp farmers, businesses, and nonprofits, through which it is coordinating the production and donation of hemp-based materials, products, and foods to nursing organizations, food banks, and other organizations in their regions that are helping people impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The network has already donated to food banks and nutrition programs in four Kentucky counties; hand sanitizers and other self-care products to professional nursing organizations in Massachusetts and New York; and hemp clothing to the homeless. Learn more.

'The power of hemp is incredible and the power of a community with purpose is unlimited'

As we settle into challenging times, many of us find ourselves asking, “What can I do to help?” When you’re part of an industry that has the power to produce tens of thousands of products—ranging from food, homemade masks, clothing, and a host of other sustainable, non-toxic consumer products—you feel particularly called to duty. The hemp industry, in its first year of USDA regulation, heeds that call. Feeling the spirit of its former calls to serve our country during wartime, hemp businesses have united in a social responsibility campaign to produce supplies for those on the front lines and in need.

The social responsibility campaign,  Hemp for Our Future, is a network of hemp businesses that support the production and donation of hemp-based materials, products, and foods to medical professionals and community organizations impacted by COVID-19. Read more from Vicente Sederberg's Shawn Hauser in the firm's Insights blog.
