May 5, 2026 - The Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN), the leading trade association for the dietary supplement and functional food industry, today announced it has filed a Citizen Petition with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requesting clarity on the placement of the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act (DSHEA) disclaimer on product labels and swift rulemaking action following the FDA’s December 2025 enforcement discretion announcement.

May 5, 2026 - The Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN), the leading trade association for the dietary supplement and functional food industry, today expressed its sincere appreciation to a coalition of respected organizations that have filed amicus curiae briefs in support of CRN’s writ of certiorari petition before the United States Supreme Court.

April 21, 2026 — The CRN Foundation, the educational arm of the Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN), will once again highlight the importance of prenatal nutrition at the 2026 American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) Annual Clinical and Scientific Meeting, taking place May 1–3 in Washington, D.C.

APRIL 16, 2026 — CRN announced the addition of several new member companies following approval by its Board of Directors during the first quarter. MARCH 30, 2026 — CRN today announced it has filed a petition for a writ of certiorari with the United States Supreme Court, seeking review of a Second Circuit decision that upheld a New York law restricting the sale of certain dietary supplements to minors based solely on how those products are labeled or marketed. This New York law is a content-based infringement on speech and is wholly different than laws that limit the sales of products based on their ingredients or demonstrated harm. The law broadly sweeps into its prohibition products that are safe, beneficial, and have never been shown to harm minors.

MARCH 25, 2026 — The CRN Foundation today released a review reaffirming that supplemental calcium is not associated with increased risk of cardiovascular disease, countering years of confusion fueled by flawed and misinterpreted studies.
