CRN Welcomes Five New Members

WASHINGTON, D.C., March 6, 2012—The Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN), the dietary supplement industry’s leading trade association, announces five new companies to its membership: Voting Members—Cepham Inc., headquartered in Piscataway, N.J.; Ingredients by Nature, headquartered in Montclair, Calif.; and Thompson Brands, headquartered in Meriden, Conn.; and Associate Members—Aegis Sciences Inc., headquartered in Nashville, Tenn.; and Greenberg Traurig, LLP, located in Denver.    

Cepham Inc. is a nutritional ingredient supplier that specializes in standardized herbal extracts, dairy ingredients and phytochemicals. The firm, which manufactures its ingredients in India, has been providing products and services to the dietary supplement and food industries for more than 10 years. 

Ingredients by Nature is a manufacturer of ingredients, extracts and formulas from fruit and plant-based sources and a provider of value-added ingredient solutions for human and animal nutrition products. The company, with a strong focus on citrus flavonoid extraction and science, is involved in the entire development process of its ingredients—from raw material sourcing, extraction, formula creation, to pre-mixing and analysis.

Thompson Brands LLC is a chocolatier with a long legacy dating back to 1879. It offers an array of quality, all-natural chocolate novelty lines under the Thompson brand. The company also produces Adora Calcium Supplement, which provides the indulgence of premium chocolate with the benefits of the daily requirements of calcium plus vitamin D3.

Aegis Sciences Inc., which originally started as an anti-doping laboratory, is a full service forensic sciences company that provides toxicology and consulting services to food manufacturers, large and small businesses, sports organizations, physicians, crime laboratories, medical examiner systems, corporations, among other organizations throughout the world.  Among its services, the company has developed tests for performance-enhancing substances, including anabolic steroids, stimulants, narcotics as well as nutritional supplements.
