Chuck Tacl Named Chair of CRN’s Retail Relations Forum

Mason Vitamins Executive to Begin Two-Year Term

July 7, 2023

WASHINGTON — The Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN), the leading trade association for the dietary supplement and functional food industry, is pleased to announce the appointment of Chuck Tacl, senior vice president, sales and business development, for Mason Vitamins as chairperson of CRN’s Retail Relations Forum (RRF). Tacl succeeds Todd Johnson, senior director of field sales at i-Health who had served as chair since May 2021.

Composed of senior sales and customer officers from CRN member companies, the Retail Relations Forum, which began in 2019, offers a venue for CRN members to stay informed on retailers’ priorities, initiatives, and expectations for the dietary supplement and functional food categories. “CRN’s Retailer Relations Forum is a great opportunity for us to share ideas and build collaborations that drive business for everyone,” said Tacl. “I look forward to serving in this role and expanding upon the previous work by Todd and those who served before him.”

Tacl will lead the RRF in fostering industry-retailer connections, which includes identifying mutually beneficial business opportunities and helping to expand education programs with retailers and other stakeholders. One of Tacl’s immediate priorities is to plan a breakfast meeting at the NACDS Total Store Expo in San Diego on Sunday, Aug. 13, where speakers from Kroger and HyVee will discuss the latest trends and expectations for their dietary supplement aisles, and market intelligence firm SPINS will present the latest trends it is observing among supplement consumer purchasing habits.

Steve Mister, president & CEO of CRN said Tacl’s leadership will play a vital role in enabling member companies to capitalize on potential business prospects between the supplement industry and retailers. “Chuck’s depth of industry experience will lend a layer of strategy to RRF that will engage and excite the group,” Mister added. “We’re looking forward to what we know will be a successful tenure.”

Tacl joined Mason Vitamins, located in Miami Lakes, Florida, in 2019, after working at Reliance Vitamins in a sales and business development capacity. In addition to his experience at Mason Vitamins, Tacl has over ten years of experience at Novartis Consumer Health. At Novartis, he successfully managed teams for Target and club retailers and later took on the responsibility of overseeing the company's comprehensive retail activation strategy. Prior to his tenure at Novartis, Tacl worked at Unilever, Bayer, and Evenflo.
