CRN Announces Staff Promotions and New Hires

WASHINGTON—The Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN), the leading trade association for the dietary supplement and functional food industry, today announced promotions for four staffers and two new employees to its team.

Megan Olsen was promoted to senior vice president and general counsel; Gretchen Powers, to vice president, marketing and member experience; Haiuyen Nguyen, to vice president, regulatory and nutrition policy; and Tammie Betway, to office director and executive assistant to the CEO. Daniel Garza and Elise Hall joined CRN as legislative and legal assistant and communications assistant, respectively.

“I am always thrilled to announce promotions as it recognizes our team members for their long-term and extensive contributions to the organization,” said CRN President & CEO Steve Mister. “These promotions reflect the effort put forth by these individuals, and I congratulate them for their hard work.”

Promotions

As senior vice president and general counsel, Megan Olsen will continue to provide advice and legal counsel to members on litigation, legislation, regulatory compliance, advocacy, and policy development, as well as advising staff on legal matters for the association.

Gretchen Powers, as vice president, marketing and member experience, will enhance connections between CRN’s communications functions and membership functions to bring more value to the association’s diverse and growing community of professionals in the dietary supplement and functional food industry.

As vice president, regulatory and nutrition policy, Haiuyen Nguyen will provide analysis and strategies for accomplishing CRN’s regulatory and public health and nutrition objectives, and will continue to develop CRN’s comments on supplement-related topics to federal agencies such as FDA, USDA and NIH.

Tammie Betway, office director and executive assistant to the CEO, will, among other duties, manage human resources and office operations, working closely with the Finance department and assisting with staff benefits administration, and the onboarding of new employees.

 
New Hires

Daniel Garza joins CRN as a legislative and legal assistant and will work collaboratively with its Government Affairs and Legal departments. Garza most recently worked at Invariant Government Relations after graduating from Ohio State University.

Elise Hall joins the association as communications assistant, working closely with the vice president of marketing and member experience on CRN’s digital communications. Hall most recently worked as a legislative intern in the office of Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA).
