September 28, 2026 — The Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN), the leading trade association for the dietary supplement and functional food industry, today expressed deep disappointment with Governor Gavin Newsom’s signing of Assembly Bill 2030. CRN warned throughout the legislative process that the law’s overly broad approach could create unnecessary barriers to lawful products, confuse consumers, and leave responsible businesses facing uncertainty about which supplements fall within its restrictions.
